CONFESSIONS OF A SUPERHERO
SYNOPSIS
Confessions of a Superhero (Book by Sam Ody and George Gehm) is a comedy musical which centres around Jenny-Lee and her quest to discover her true identity in a world where the extraordinary is just... ordinary. Haunted by her untameable abilities she seeks out a group dedicated to helping superheroes cope with their daily struggles and pressures that come with the job, in the hope that they will provide her with some much needed guidance and insight. However, it quickly becomes clear that the heroes Jenny once looked up to aren't as super as she thought, a realisation made even more worrying by the resurgence of a powerful supervillain. Will Jenny be able to navigate controversy and conflict to find the path destiny has always intended? Or will this lost soul, as so many do, fly too close to the sun?

MY ROLE
As composer, musical director and co-producer my duties went beyond creative and musical to management and leadership. I lead and ran rehearsals, recorded backing tracks and harmonies for vocalists and performed as pianist and musical director. The score (as found below) consists of piano, bass, drums, three saxophones, trumpet and trombone - but this was adapted to piano bass and drums for the fringe performances.
